Any gas fireplace experts in the house?

Have a vented gas fireplace in my house that is 4 years old. It has always worked fine but this winter it burns about 2 hours and then just goes out. The pilot does not go out, it stays lit but the gas to the logs just stops burning. There is no gas smell or odor when this happens. Any idea what would cause this?

Probably a sensor went bad, clean them off and test them (usually by jumping them).

I'm not an expert, but I would guess the gas valve.

I forgot to add that it will relight a couple hours later and burn again for 2-3 hours and then shut off again.

Does it have remote control capability?
My remote transmitter would sense the heat and shut the fireplace off.
