Any good brands/source for forged 3/8" hand impact driver bits?

I have an old Craftsman manual hand impact driver that I use pretty frequently for removing stubborn/rusted screws. I need some good forged replacement bits in both Phillips & slotted. The cheap ones keep sheering off, creating an even bigger problem.

Anyone have a good replacement brand/set they can recommend?

5/16" bit? or 1/4" bits?

I just recently posted a thread about Makita Gold bits, in that they SEEM to be stronger than most other bits on the market. I have not, yet, had a chance to use mine but I'd look into those IF you need 1/4" bits.

If you need 5/16" bits, the best I've used so far has been Proto.

My bad - meant to add that the shanks are 5/16" for the 3/8" drive adapter.

Do you have any part numbers for the impact rated Proto bits? I see the full set from Grainger, but the single bits are listed as "Not for impact use"

Good question. The bits I was referring to are the bits that came with my Proto hand impact driver. I will look to see if I can track part numbers down, but it's very possible that they don't label them as "impact rated" even though they package them with a manual impact driver.

FWIW, I have broken some of the Proto bits I'm referring to, but never by using them with the manual hand impact. All of the Proto bits I have broken were extensively used in an M18 Fuel 1/4" driver prior to breaking.
