Any good old house forums?? (craftsman style house forums)??

Hey guys! I love being on the forums here and enjoy the format of how everything is laid out. Any one know if there is a similar forum for old craftsman style homes? I live in a 1925 Craftsman bungalow and would enjoy talking to others who have old homes/ getting remodel ideas, etc. Let me know if you know of old house forums. Thanks:beer:

Have you tried houzz? It's an app for my iPhone and iPad. There are good pics and discussions of craftsman and other style houses.

I live in a fairly unchanged 1917 craftsman bungalow up here in MN. Haven't found many forums...certainly nothing like GJ anyhow. Off the top of my head, one site worth stopping by is 1912bungalow That house was a complete mess and they have really turned it around.

EDIT: Just remembered, google Carlinville, IL if you haven't done so yet. Fascinating story about Standard Oil Co building entire blocks filled with kit homes.

I have one built in 1926....It was going to be bulldozed before I got to it....My father and I rebuilt it from room to room, top to bottom...there's nothing we didn't do to this house....The previous owners were disgusting animals. Hoarders too. When I walked through the house you had to take a path that was roughly 6 inches side to side all around the bottom floor. I could go on for days.

Luckily all previous owners were worthless human beings, so all of the original woodwork survived them....Even my wood countertops in the kitchen are all original. After 4 years of constant work, this house is brand new inside and out, saving everything original. It's like living in a brand new 1926 house. Any questions, I'd be happy to answer.

No particular questions at this time, thanks though. I just wanted a place to read and learn from others like we do here. When I start in on it I will most likely be doing a build/ remodel thread.

Unfortunately, Jim, No. It's the worst mistake I made. At first, I thought no one would care, and I just wanted to get the work done....after about 3 months of 6 hours a night after work, I wish so much that I had taken pictures. I can take pics of what the house looks like now, but it really doesn't do it justice unless you could see what it was like before the renovation. Of course, I'd have to clean up this bachelor pad to even take pics in the first place :)

Also on the property is an 1800s barn that was within a few years of falling completely over...now it has a new foundation, and we just poured 14 yards of concrete for the man shop underneath....I can't take credit for that engineering, that was all my father. We've done every last thing here ourselves, farmed out nothing. Pretty impressive....The things a father has learned over the years are unimaginable until he gets out the hammer and nails and lifts an entire barn off of the ground and adds on another half of a barn to the back end....

As soon as I get some cleaning done inside, I'll take some pics...I guess I could post room to room and mention what was done....and...since it's an old house....the ton of stuff that still needs to be done!
