Any guesses on sq. ft. cost So Cal?

I know this fits in the "Wild *** Guess" category, but I'm thinking of building a shop on our property that is just north east of San Diego. I would handle all the sight prep separately.

I would want concrete footers, 4" slab, framing, stucco to match the house, concrete tile roofing to match the house. I would do all electrical, plumbing and misc. work. single 16' x 8' door, man door, 6 - 48" x 48" windows. Hip roof with scissor trusses.

26 x 32 is about all I'll have room for. Thinking 10 ft. walls. Any thoughts? I realize this could be all over the map, but if someone has somewhat recent experience in this area, it could help for planning purposes.

2 years ago, I was quoted approx $36 sqft for mine with 14’ walls, 50x40. That was the foundation, framed, and roof. No exterior finish, doors, windows, or electrical. I had a certified graded pad already. I ended up going steel at $26 finished, no electrical.

No idea on building in So Cal, here in BC building costs have increased by double in the last 18 months. This is due to the rapidly expanding construction boom and Covid19 supply chain delays. I have built my garage slowly to find materials as cheaply as I can find them and I am now to the point of just grabbing anything that is available.

IMHO, the costs will exceed your estimates and the time required will be longer than predicted.

Alternative materials will lessen the price, but by using alternative materials you can kiss goodbye your dreams of a beautiful building with a tile roof.
