I have acquired a ht50 philtech refrigerated air dryer for my 2000 square foot garage. It will be hooked up in between my 5hp 80 gallon and my homemade paintbooth. Anyone out there know the distance it should be placed between the booth and air compressor? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Put it as close as you want to the compressor. The air should be dry once it exits the dryer, thus no issues with painting.

You will want the air as cool as possible prior to entering the dryer. If you use an aftercooler on the compressor then you can install the dryer at the receiver. If not put the dryer as far away from the receiver as possible.

If the paint booth can leak overspray and your compressor is close by, you can clog your air compressor intake filter sooner.

I found references to a Deltech HT50 which can take inlet air at High Temperature because it has an aftercooler built in. Didn't find a SCFM rating, but it looks plenty big. Post up a pic if you can.
