Just spotted this on CL. The script Lincoln logo isn't one I recognized, and it had me intrigued.
So, does anyone know anything more about this toolbox?

RL: even if it IS COBBLED TOGETHER I'm pretty sure if it looked decent in person it would follow me home at that price. are you close enough to see it in person or would you need to take a train, plane and automobile?

Someone cobbled together a pretty cool metal cart from some automotive parts. I'd be a player at the asking price or a few bucks less.

I worked at an old time auto parts store/machine shop many years ago. They sold a brand of lubrication equipment, grease guns, etc with the Lincoln name. I wonder if the tool cabinet could be an old one from that company?

That's interesting. Did you notice the listing is 20 days old? Does that mean the price is too high for the area? I wonder if the item is from a Lincoln car dealership shop, a Lincoln welder shop, or home made custom project? I'm glad I live on the other side of the country, otherwise I would thinking about it....

It definitely looks like a Lincoln automobile name badge from the 1950s, just painted over with flat black paint. If you go to look at the box I suspect the tag has a couple pins on the back that stick through the front of the drawer and are fastened on the inside with speed nuts (or, they could have just been broken off and the thing could be glued in place.

RL: in my area guys sell these Lyon carts for good money and this one the guy is asking 3 benjamins. look familiar to yours and have you had a chance to see it in person yet? or has it sold?

It's a Lyon two drawer cart with metal casters. Someone just replaced the original handles with the Lincoln badges. I restored one of a couple of years ago. I replaced the metal casters with some hard rubber ones I already had.

I really like my Lyon cart. I bought it at an auction for $15.00 a think. Has a 1/4 " steel top. I used to have a 4" vice on it and used it for a little welding table. Now I have a Delta tabletop drill press on it.
