this was in a tool box i recently bought. any idea what it is? the only marks on it are RIMAC PAT APP. sorry for the **** pics.

Looks like the die part of a key-way cutting broaching set. The corresponding part (not shown) looks like a file with large teeth on the side. It's used for cutting a key-way inside of a round hole like a pulley or gear. The little knob on the side opposite of the opening is for holding and putting pressure on a shim to force the broach rod against the surface to be cut. Commonly used with an arbor press.
