Wild guess but it looks like something for a bike or motorcycle chain.
I was thinking along those lines, but you can't push a link pin with a drive pin on both sides. Also the profile on the fixed and moving part is not the same. Chains are usually semetrical on both sides.

My dad used to make his own lead weights for fishing and shotgun slugs. That looks very similar to the thing he used to hold an iron cup to dip the molten lead in order to pour it into the molds. It's been about 40 years since I have seen it done, so my memory may be playing tricks on me.

Looks custom made. Can you tell us what happens when you turn the screw handle? Does it push or pull the upper jaw? Can you disassemble it and show the pieces? I'm with Kevin on the adjustable pin spanner except it looks like the screw pushes the jaws apart, not pull them together.

I have more questions than answers.

Do either one of the anvils have a hole in them?

Quite a bit different from my bullet mold holders. Some are fairly old.

This looks almost identical to the side handle that comes with Milwaukee M18 cordless drills. I wonder if it's a handle for something.

It does not come apart. When you turn the handle clockwise it opens wider, when you turn it counterclockwise it closes until the pins touch.

I suspect because of the hex on the body (near the threads) it is intended go close tightly around a specific object, and you would use a separate open end or adjustable wrench to hold it while you twist the handle to tighten the jaws with the pins.

What makes me scratch my head is what do you do when its tight? The treaded rod is not strong enough to take much torque, so it would not make much of a wrench.

Its obviously well used, so its not a one job and stick in the toolbox special tool.

Appreciate all the ideas.

Humm. Looks to old for a hand held power tool handle. But it does look similar.
