Any ideas for platform mover?

I put up a 4' wide x 16' long shelf along 1 wall of my shop. (lots to store)
I want to make 4, approx 3 1/2' x 4' platforms with 2 fixed casters on the one end and 2 legs on the other. A simple wheel mover (like a hand trailer mover) would pull out each platform as needed.
Anyone have any pictures or ideas?

Just use swivel casters on the "leg" end and lock them when not moving. Why make it harder then it needs to be?

I like the feet option as they will stay put a lot better than locking swivel casters. At $6 a caster it should be a hell of a lot cheaper too.

For the mover I would probably suggest putting a pipe cap (either plastic or iron depending on weight) in middle bottom of the leg side to serve as a hitch and then get a 2 wheel cart and weld a short pipe ****** onto it which will fit into the cap for a positive fit. Your turning radius will **** pretty bad though unless you extend the flat of the 2 wheel cart.

Another option might be to fasten a hockey puck in the middle front of each pallet and then use your floor jack assuming you have one and that you can make them high enough for the jack to fit under. The puck should be cheap and durable and provide a semi positive mating to the pallet.

I will only be pulling it straight out about 6' max.
The platform might have stuff on it that doesn't give a hand hold to pull straight out, or push back in.
I think I might use the same casters on the back of the platform, to make a mover for the platforms.

Just thinking about this. Swivel castors, add an attachment for a "pull handle", down low to keep the platform from getting tippy. All the swivels will do is allow you to easily move the platforms once they are done. Pulling them straight in or out sounds easy but ,with no way to steer them, you will find it frustrating getting them straight and keeping them that way.

I made a 4'x4' test platform from some ply scraps. 2 fixed casters on one end. Feet on other end.
Used a hand truck to move in and out. Worked fine, except the flat part of the hand truck, that does the lifting, could be shorter to make lifting and pulling out easier.

Here's something similar to what you describe:
