All the information I have is that he thinks it was a snap on box made in the 70's

Any idea who makes it? It is the size I am looking for but my old lady would kill me if I bought another one before I finished my current projects

I would say it is a remline that has been repainted. One from the 70's is a nice solid box. Search remline or monty wards powercraft boxes, they should be real close.

I am thinking it would make a very nice travel box especially at $30 I was hoping it was Snap-on. Thanks for the input bobcatdan

+1 on Remline. I have a 1971 dated Blackhawk box that looks identical to the one in the OP's pic. Remline made those boxes for New Britain Co. at that time.
