I figured I would post this up before I ripped it apart to swap in some led lights. It has been hanging in an old shed that was torn down at work and ready for the scrap pile but ended up in the back of my truck instead. Its just a cool looking old light, and I thought it wouldn't look to bad if I gave it a coat of paint and hung it up. After cleaning many years of dust off of it all i can find for markings on it is the name Benjamin. I guess my main question is should I leave it as is, or clean it up, rewire it and use it?

I wasn't really able to find much for 4' flourescent Benjamin shop lights on line and figured someone on here might be able to identify it before I go and ruin it haha.

Mid 40's. Looks like F40T12, still got it's preheat ballast judging by the starters still in their sockets.

Guessing the reflector is porcelain enamel since it cleaned up well.

My little work area in the basement is lit with a couple of late 40's fluorescent shop lights. I'd love to find some more.

Would hate to see leds put in this.
