Any interference running multiple romex in EMT near Cat6 in EMT?

1960's colonial. I've renovating the kitchen and bathroom that are on top of each other so the same walls are open to the studs.

I plan on running EMT conduit from the unfinished basement to the unfinished attic to do the runs for whole house hard-wired smoke detectors. And another run of conduit for "future proofing". And another run of conduit for the communications, coax cable, Cat 6 for internet and/or security cameras. All the runs will be within a few inches from each other. Should I worry about interference?

It's in EMT, I wouldn't worry about it.

If youre gonna go to the trouble of running EMT, why not use individual conductors instead of NM-b aka Romex which can be a pain to pull in conduit.

Definitely use individual wires in EMT conduit for house (120v AC) wiring. You will thank us later!

Because then you need to run conduit all the way to the box or have a junction box to switch to Romex. Just adds more complexity in my opinion.

I'd just leave a 1 1/2 or 2" empty conduit if you want a chase for future stuff.

Agree w Bert. I might use blue smurf tube or PVC... smurf being easier of it isn’t a perfectly straight shot- and you can curve each end to make it easily accessible in the future.

Also, place a pull cord that is 2x the run length into each....that way in the future you can just tack on wires, pull in, pull the cord back....
