I just clean the gutters once a year in the late fall after the leaves have fallen from the trees.

What we need is a remote control drone with a compressed air line or water line to follow the gutter path and blow out the leaves.

I installed These foam inserts last year and am very happy with results. I have mostly red pine and white pine needles to deal with some oak leaves. Keeps them all out.

I saw these at Home Depot. Seems very simple. My only question was to find out how well it handles heavy rains.

I do not see the point of the gutter guards or whatever you call them. On both my own home (1 1/2 story) and my neighbors( full 2 story) I just use metal pipe extensions with the nozzle on the end. 20 minutes later all the gutters are cleaned out. No ladders needed.

You really do not want to stand under these gutter when cleaning them:

Or maybe you do, if you like to be showered in half rotted vegetation!:lol_hitti

Not too well. We have foam inserts and with intense rain, the water flows over the edge. They do well with most leave's. But pine needle's are the worst. They stick into the pours of the foam. I believe the TV advertisements say "Needle's blow away on your next windy day". Not at my house.
