In case anyone is in the market, I liked the Facom SAE set well enough to buy a metric set too. There is one set left at what I thought was a pretty good deal compared to the $328 on Ultimate Garage.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00B1C69U6/

^ 168 Euros - VAT + shipping = substantially less than $200 to my door

They have neither the teeth nor the OGV scalloping, which was fine by me.

Thanks for sharing this. Curious where is this made? Please post pics when yours arrive.

Here you go.

Metric is on the right, SAE in the middle.

A couple of my ratcheting wrenches and my ratcheting wrench drawers . Just got the cougar pro 11/16 and have a 7/16 on back order amazon. Ordered a proto double box reversing to cover the SAE in reversing ratcheting wrenches . Metric reversing ratcheting wrenches are covered by Blackhawk and SK G pro. I have G pro in metric deep offset , locking flex head and double box stubby and reversing

Matco's extra long set....hard to beat... expensive? Yes...but worth it!
srfbzlm102ta.jpg

I got a set of GearWrench 8mm-19mm 15 degree reversing how you like the MATCO with the spline drive?

Can they hold up to a LOT of torque???

How do you like the SK Stubby double box G Pros? I think Cornwell has the same wrenches .

never used them yet. Bought them cheap on Amazon. I actually think Apex was the seller. They must of bought up some of SK’s g pro when sk went all USA.

I was recently told about this option, because I was in the same boat -- looking at Tekton, GearWrench, and waiting to see what HF Icon's option would be like.

I ordered a set yesterday, we'll see how they do -- I've generally had pretty solid experiences with OEMTools, so hopefully these are up to par as well. They're on Amazon as well, but they're a bit more and MDS appears to be offering some extras? We'll see if they show up or not.

I just ordered the same set from MDS. Hard to pass on for $85 shipped to my door (use code SAVE10 at checkout to save 10%).

Dang this thread just caused me to order a 12-set of the metric Facom 467s from Amazon.de. $148 to my door...

Set included a 9mm..... Oh well better than skipping the 15

This is a photo of my favorite metric ratcheting wrench. I think that set is about 20 years old now. SAE gear wrench equivalents are 5 years old and I just hate using them. I was hoping for something similar in design but nicer in an SAE set.

Maybe spline drive, or just standard 12 pt. Not sure it matters for me given that I tend to use the open end for higher torque and the ratcheting end to snug/remove.

Perhaps I am on a fool's errand and I should just be eBaying a set of the Craftsmans I know I like. Was hoping for a more complete set and something a little nicer though.

Facom here looks interesting
As does this MAC set

Based on comments in this thread and elsewhere on GJ, I have looked for others but not found SAE combination sets:
Gedore (found 3300060 but metric only)
Wright (9429 but not combination)
Hazet (606N/12 but metric only)

Could be my rusty Google Foo. Particularly in German.

I really like that wrench rail, could you tell me where you got it?

Mine arrived yesterday, and they came with a free 22978 12 pc Go Through Socket Set.

Jeez those are nice! I'm really excited for my set now. You didn't add the through-sockets to your cart, did you? When I ordered, it sounded like you didn't add them to your cart, they were just automatically threw in with your order for free.

Have you gotten a chance to use them yet? How do you like them? This is my first OEM tool, if it goes over well I may have to look a little more at their catalogue.

No, I did not add them to my cart. They just showed up in the box. I didn't even notice they were giving away a free item until I read it here.

I have not used them yet, I actually just laid my hands on them today. They were shipped to my office and arrived yesterday, but I was off. Being that I work behind a desk and I didn't buy them for an impending project, I really don't know when I will actually use them. I do plan on changing the oil in my motorcycle soon so I'll probably try them out then.

Awesome, I saw the message when I was ordering and I wasn't 100% sure if I should add them to my cart or not -- I wound up not, being that I'd rather be out a second set of passthrough sockets than have three (total) sets and pay more than necessary.

Hello from behind a desk as well! Mine should be here Thursday, and if I finish up my little organization project in the garage I'll likely change the oil in my daily driver, so I suppose we'll both get to try them out.

I'm impressed that they ship a spare set of the retaining rings as well.
