Any recent tooltopia experiences?

I searched and could only come up with threads that were years old.

I ordered a spindle thread repair kit a few months back, and shipping seemed to take a little long, but still in an acceptable range.

Last week, I ordered some 3 row Hansen socket trays. I got an order confirmation immediately and the money came out immediately.

I barely received the shipping confirmation about a day or so ago.

So handling took APPX 4 days from recieving the order to creating the shipping label. I understand that 2 of those days were the weekend/holiday. The holiday was Sunday and I’d expect them to be closed, holiday or not.

My delivery date moved ahead one day from (FedEx) the estimated delivery date.

Looks like it’s going to be about 1-1.5 weeks from order to delivery on some lightweight socket trays.

I’m not hurting for the trays, they are going into my shop box and my shop box trays are going into the backup box. The trays in my shop box are still nice/new, I just ordered the 3 row because I bought a junk portable box that had a lot of semi shallow sockets...

But does 3 days handling (accounting for Sunday/holiday) seem reasonable? 1- 1.5 weeks from placing order to delivery seem reasonable?

Is this typical from tooltopia? I want to order more from them, but if it’s going to take a week plus to get stuff I order, there are other options that offer free shipping for orders over $99.

I can order from elsewhere and stuff comes next day or 2nd business day if ordered on a weekend......

I’ve ordered numerous times and been very happy! Not sure about tooltopia, but Friday was also a holiday for some. So that could mean that Friday, Saturday and Sunday holiday/weekend.

I've ordered several times from them within the last month & the last order had a couple large pieces of equipment that came truck freight & they arrived here at the shop in less than a week from when I placed the order.

Probably due to the holiday. I've always had great ship times with them.

Keep in mind that even UPS will skip some business pickups on a day like Good Friday. Sometimes the business will close early (mine did) or UPS will skip the pickup if they think the business is closed (although they are supposed to ask beforehand).

Around Easter some companies allow Friday and Monday as off days.

What kind of shipping did you pay for? Economy? USPS first class mail? I'm about as spoiled as they come with shipping and even I dont think a week is a long time for a regular free shipping type order, but it looks like you must have paid something ya? If it was first class priority mail and you expected 2 or 3 day shipping then yes, it's pretty poor. If it was 4.95 economy shopping then it seems fair.

That's too long. They should be able to get it to you in 3 days.

I’m sorry you think I’m bitching moaning and complaining. I am not. I am only asking if the slow shipping is typical of this company. I see many tools I’d like to purchase, but if the handling takes a while, and shipping is slow, I’ll shop elsewhere. It is my choice as a consumer.

Pardon me for trying to do some due diligence on a company before choosing to spend more of my hard earned money there

Well I’m not sure where your tools shipped from but mine have come next day with free shipping to Indiana. So if the warehouse is not west coast I could see longer ship times. I believe your processing delay was due to the holiday and perhaps what time of day the order was placed.

The socket trays were delivered this morning, though it still shows a delivery date next week. I suppose that has more to do with fedex than tooltopia....

Tooltopia is always my go to when ordering tools online. I normally get items the next day or 2 days at the most.

FedEx is terrible for me. Their tracking never shows correctly for any packages.
