As the title says. With a Tray would be nice but not a deal breaker. Thanks

What's "affordable"? What selection of tips? Slotted, phillips, torx, hex? Work on laptops or phones/tablets?

Decent Quality under $20 preferably that won't round off screws. Phillips and Straight mostly. No and no

Decent for under $20 is tough. There are a million no-name Chinese sets on amazon, but I have no idea what their quality is like.

Here's a Klein very basic 4 piece set for a $20 spot . . .

For a bit more, a 5 piece Wiha set . . .

And a Wiha 7 piece set, a bit more money still . . .

Get the vessel sets, they are unreasonably inexpensive for the quality.

Think $15-20/set

I bought this set at radio shack 2 decades ago for $20. I imagine something similar would be doubled in price, so the wiha up above is probably a decent deal.
At one time Radio Shack had those branded as Kronus. The Harbor Freight Pittsburgh 6 pc set 47823 is basically the same and $5 or less with a coupon.

Back to the OP:
Wiha is one of the few that offers extra long precision drivers. When you need one, you really need one. Way too long as daily drivers though.
I have a decent little Genius set I’ve never seen mentioned here. Handles arent great, but the tips are good. It can be found very cheap on Amazon occasionally.
If spinner caps arent necessary, look at Channellock SP-5H. US made and affordable.
Husky used to have a really nice and cheap metal handled set in a handy case. I got mine years ago, but Home Depot might be worth checking for options.

Honestly at that price point check out IFixIt. Someone gave me a driver and bit set from them and it's pretty good.
Another vote for iFixit. I've had my Mako set for years and all the bits are in excellent condition. I've used it on everything from RC cars to smart watches and it always has what I need.

The driver spinner is on bearing. The flexible extension can transfer enough torque to break fasteners loose or tighten them down. The lid of the case has a molded-in grid pattern to keep fasteners organized.

A couple people will squawk about not being able to reach recessed fasteners. Those people fail to understand that tiny fasteners aren't used to hold together devices large enough to require deep recesses.

Just an FYI for whatever it means. I'm a sparky by trade and been a Klein fanboy for decades. But their screwdrivers went to **** long ago. I've got this set and all though it's rare I put my tools on anymore, when I do its mostly PLC (I/O) work. The tips on these went to hell pretty quick, I don't suggest them at all.

Another vote for iFixit. I have the Manta kit ($69 on Amazon), which has every bit you can think of. Quality is very nice. The only thing I would wish was a little better was the ability read the labeling in the foam next to the individual bits. It is engraved into the foam, but the small size and lack of contrast makes it a little hard to see w/o my reading glasses, lol. It is more than your $20 budget, but as others have already said, $20 sets and "quality" don't really go together.

I have a Wiha set as well as some generic 3.5mm hex driver sets. I originally dismissed the ifixit stuff as just branded throw away tools. However, having received some with a replacement phone screen, I've changed my mind. They are quite good for a reasonable price. If a multi-bit set is what the OP is looking for I would certainly look at the ifixit sets. If I replace my generic stuff that is where I will go.

If made in USA is desired (which it doesn't sound like it is a requirement) check out Channellock's relatively new set. Available for about $30 from Amazon and Home Depot

I use an iFixit mako kit a lot at work, but I get tired of switching bits (we use a lot of different sizes of tamperproof torx screws)

The Xiaomi Mijia Wiha 24-in-1 Precision Screw Driver Kit is my default recommendation. It's excellent. Expect to pay $25-$30.

The bits are made by Wiha. Nice aluminum screwdriver handle and a clever magnetic case. The selection will probably cover everything you're likely to encounter.

Just keep in mind the cheaper lookalike "Xiaomi Mi" set is a different product. I suspect Xiaomi made their own version to hit a lower price-point - but I've not seen their set in-person to comment whether it's noticeably inferior.

Also worth considering is the Klein 32717 Precision Screwdriver Set with Case.

Similar section of bits as the Wiha, but they're a touch longer for better access. They seem good so far, but I've only had my set a couple months now and haven't used it near as much as my Wiha set.

The case is a little bulkier, but if you're not pocketing it or working out of a tool bag it's no big deal. I like this set a lot more than I expected.

I bought it after my kid borrowed my Wiha kit and lost the PH01 bit. I couldn't find a replacement bit that wasn't going to cost near as much as this Klein kit - so now I have both and my Wiha remains one-bit short.

I have Wiha standalone drivers, and iFixit 4mm bit drivers. I recommend both.

I also have this set, which is quite good, and close to the OP's budget. Platinum Tools is a trusted brand in the Telecom/Datacom industry.
