I don't know UK prices but that seems steep. Great ratchet though. What do the German brands go for out that way? Those are also excellent. If you are stuck in SO then that will serve you well. Although I prefer a longer handle, you might prefer something different.

Thats expensive i think tbh i would not look at snapon at this stage besides you will rarely get a good deal on snapon over here

Well its £99.35 on snap-on's UK site (ex vat) I would rather stick to euro made ratchets myself, lots of great stuff available.

The best way to get Snap On in the UK is through a dealer. Ratchets like that one linked were probably on special for 59.99+VAT. That's how tools like that end up on eBay. So you are basically paying retail and not getting the warranty.
I suspect few people on GJ actually have access to a Snap On rep and/or know what sort of deals there are to be had and what pros really pay. Buy One Get One deals are just about weekly. Normal specials are 20-40% off.
And I would not choose that particular ratchet as my first good ratchet. The Dual 80 technology really shines on long ratchets. I would recommend the FLL80, or FLFH80. If I could have only one Snap On ratchet it would be the SHLF80A Mr. Big. Its great to have a ratchet as strong as a breaker bar that long (25") with a fine toothed ratchet mechanism. These are not cheap in the UK, but I'm sure you can find a deal if you are patient. Remember that the guts and the handles are replaceable. So something looking old and worn out will put off many bidders.
