Are the plans pretty good? I should probably do that and save a bunch of money.

Not sure if woodpecker makes a tabletop model but their Incra fences are awesome. I have one on the router and one on the tablesaw, with the one on the saw I can cut a part, move the fence, move it back and cut another part & it will be within a couple of thousandths of the first part. I have the twin linear on the router table & it is great for doing decorative boxes along with other router work plus it has pretty good dust collection.

For a bench top version that will not get used a lot, I would definitly make one instead of buying. I built a free standing router table out of an old kitchen cabinet and put a JessEm router lift in it. Made the fence out of mdf and the top out of two pieces of mdf glued together and laminated both sides with Formica. Weighs a ton and works great for about 1/4 the cost of buying one.
