Too bad, years ago Crescent actually made a quality line of combination wrenches, sockets etc...

They still make quality pliers....everything else is pretty much made in Taiwan

Yeah, most all of my adjustable wrenches are Crescent brand, I agree, their plier line still looks good. I am glad I got most of my tools while companies like Diamond were still in business and most of the major USA players brands still looked good.

I suggested Jim add Diamond to his big list awhile back and someone ended up telling me Diamond was no more! I am very glad they are still in the game. I never needed any, but Diamond (i know), and I think Channellock both make some of the best fence pliers I have ever seen for farmers and ranchers.

I bought a small pair of Diamond shop shears (tin snips, whatever) off a clearance table at a tool store for $6. They are very nice. Anyone looking for Diamond stuff (NOS... the good stuff) can go to www.harryepstein.com

I used to frequent Harry Epstein's when I lived in KC. I loved going there, they are located down in the old industrial part of the city, and going there is like stepping back in time! Truely a tool junkies dream come true. I would encourage guys to take a serious look at any Bonney tools available at their website. If you actually could see Bonney stuff new and in person there would be no doubt left in your mind as to the level of quality! Also, last I knew, they sold Wright tools of both 1st, and 2nds quality, Wright grinds their name off of their seconds stuff!

Hmmmm then I wonder why the reps that handle Cooper tool that were at the Handy Hardware show in Houston back in Jan. had the complete Diamond line....and said nothing about it going away....maybe Hepstein isnt carring it anymore

That Crescent tool set stainless box combo looks familiar to me. I think I saw the same thing (or similar) at Costco recently for far less money.

Not so. The new Diamond line is likely from far offshore. Here's Epstein's current offerings:

Check out the Knipex/Diamond Alligator pliers!
