Alright, Finally thinking about lighting up my shop and wanted to get some input on some lights that I found locally for 20.00 a piece and maybe thought about picking up 30ish of them..

https://www.amazon.com/Led-Shop-Light-Garages-Warehouses/dp/B07JWFDYX7

Seem to be pretty close to the costco shoplight.

My garage is a 30x48 with 3/12 pitch ceiling with 12' walls which put peak at 1.5 ft. There are some killer lighting setups around here but not sure I'm ready to drop 2k on just lights. and I think that I'm too low for the 2' highbay lights.

Sounds like you've got realistic expectations of what these are. Also, understand that you have zero chance at ever collecting on the 5 year warranty, if you happen to need it.
As long as you get that....here's my thoughts....
Cons:
They're not efficient, at less than 100 lumens per watt, which is very poor.
Conflicting information in the product description indicates that the seller doesn't even know what he's talking about.
No information as to who the manufacturer is, so very poor quality must be assumed.
No information on components.
Doubtful that it's UL.

Pros:
It's got a chrome-finished pull chain.
A 55" cord is nice and long, which can be helpful.

$20 each is cheap. If that's what you can afford, then that's what you can afford. I'm not sure I'd go all-in on 30 of them. Maybe just get the minimum that you can live with, plus an extra 1 or 2. Then when you can afford something better.....get those.

Hope that helps a little.
Good luck,
CD

If you are going to buy cheap garbage LED shop lights, you will be best off buying the Costco Feits with Costco's warranty.
Don't ask what is wrong with X? Ask what is right with something that nobody knows anything about and will be gone shortly.

CD- Thanks for the input. I can afford to spend more just trying to moderate costs..

Do you think I would be better off with some t-8. Found someone on CL selling 8' t-8 with 4 4'ft bulbs for 25$ supposedly new. Run the t-8s for now and then pick up some bypass LED like those mentioned in the best lighting fixture thread? Maybe do 16 (4 rows of 4) or 20? Not sure how many the guy has but has some with reflector and some with out.

The only thing that I'm unsure is the first row will be at aprox 13' and second row would be close to 15' because of the scissor trusses

Here are the lights for sale...

Think Lumens per $. At 12ft mtg height I like this (link) 7800 Lumens/fixture 150 lm/$ after GJ 7% discount. Similar 2-lamp options in post 1 of best light fixture sticky.

I just wish they sold lights like that in the United Kingdom for that price! There is a number of online calculators about from which you can work out the Lumens you need for your space. I will be interested to hear how you get on with them. I have some old second hand ones which came out of the London Stock Exchange 15 years ago when i built my garage and i am thinking of changing to Led

I got the 6pack of single strip bulbes off amazon. I beleive there $49 or $59. I like having the light spread out not all coming from a singe source like you get with dual bulb housings.

So I'm not gonna go with the twin leds... Its unknown product and if i decided to go that route then I would wait for costco to knock down theirs to 20$. I'm leaning towards picking up the 4 bulb 8' lights and work on replacing the bulbs with leds. I have a little time to decide..

Thanks for the replies
