Wood top roller, that is tempting at $225, but all the rest of the pictures are of a MUCH cheaper looking roller and top box.

No way does Home Depot have "overstock" two weeks prior to BF, this is the only time of the year they really stock any quantity of rollers.

Not far from the local Fry's, so if I get a chance I will see what it is they are really selling and for how much.

That wood-topped workbench has some of the thinnest drawers you will ever see. I played with it at the store today and kind of decided that I didn't really want one at any price. It's something I'd expect to find at Harbor Freight, and not one of the good things, either.

I *think* the other thing is the 40" stack that HD is selling for $300 right now. It's also pretty thin, but it's at least thicker than the bench. If it's real, buy one of those. Or buy two so you don't put more weight in one than it can handle. I dunno, but at $225, it's a really great deal.

Of course, you're going to run the risk of getting there at the same time as the cops so they can charge you with receipt of stolen property...

Holly ****, that would be a steal at that price, I wonder how they got so many of them? I though it was a Home Depot exclusive.. I have the 40 inch top and bottom, it's going for $299 right now they had it once as low as $279.

The one with the bamboo wood top can't tell if its the 46" model or the 52" model. the 46 is on sale for 279 and the 52 goes for 329, but was as low as 279 at one point. If you do buy one check the box for damage, they have been known to come crushed and dented when taken out of the box.

Here is a review and video review I did on the 40 inch top and bottom set. LINK

I'd guess the place is legit, but not normal retail, nothing will have a "real" warranty, its all returns and overstock from Home Depot. Two miles down the street is a place with Best Buy and Costco returns, but not all that great of prices with no warranty etc. except for some sales.

Most of the time something will have been done to the item so Home Depot, Costco, etc can see its not from them and won't accept a return or exchange.

Its odd, a bunch of Husky brand new in the boxes workbench/toolboxes has been showing up on the local craigslist too. I am a little suspicious of the sellers myself.

I would be leery of forklift skid damage than anything else. I bought a 41" Husky set from my HD a few months back and went through 4 pallets trying to find a set that did not have extensive damage.

The boxes are real thin metal and even what looks like a small deformation on the outside cardboard box, will usually mean extensive damage on the inside.

Dunno. Maybe they ordered too many of them?

I didn't think home depot just sold off new inventory to people from "overstock", in fact I'm sure they don't. I've seen **** at my local home depot that's been sitting somewhere for a couple years and wasn't a return (they have more than one). I'd be weary with this stuff.

It is a nice setup in my opinion. The wood top is some sort of wood. It's not finely crafted stuff but I'd say it's very serviceable for most people. They indeed, hold tools.

Could be too many showed up at stores with damage, and HD said no you keep em. These are holiday items and that makes buyers extra picky on damage.

A flimsy box is not the least appealing to me, especially a larger box.

I have looked and played with the wood top one every time I'm in but can't bring myself to buy it. The drawers are super flimsy although I'm no professional and would probably never overload it. I had the older original husky that was identical to the macsemizer at the time so I can't stand how flimsy they are now. I am constantly browsing craigslist for a snap on deal and will likely go with the HF 44" box if I don't just get in touch with my dads snap on guy and get a krsc46.

I've fondled them in store. They are very flimsy and have a good wobble to them. I'd prefer an older friction slide over that. Fun fact, IIRC they are COO Vietnam. :headscrat Cause how often do you see that on a tool box?:dunno:
