Go for it. In my mom's neighbourhood in Ft Laud, they use tile for their driveways, so I'm sure your garage will look great.

Three things I'd want to know. Will the tiles be exposed to freezing temperatures? If so, there's a moisture content number they'll have to be below. The second is the hardness of the tile -- you'll want a PEI rating of 4 or 5. The third is the coefficient of friction of the tile. I would say you want .60 or higher, wet. All of these ratings are on a piece of paper in the box of tiles.

The method of installation is important. This is not a bathroom or a kitchen. There should be no air spaces (voids) in the thinset.

A fourth thing I'd like to know. Why is it a non-working garage? ;)

I've had ceramic tiles in my (working) garage for five years, now. Very happy with it.

This should true on ALL tile jobs ! You might get away with it on a kitchen back splash, but in high moisture areas (tub, shower) a void might allow moisture to build up. Not good.
