....does anyone else just stop reading it? Even if I post in it, I find after a while it just turns into some sort of ******* match. I usually figure about 3-5 pages, then it becomes useless.

So what's your limit?

Mods: please delete or at least lock this if it ever reaches 5 pages or so.

I'm the same way, I read a few pages then I just click through the rest and look at the pictures. Otherwise it's just words words words.

Some of our best build, organizational and tech threads are quite long.

This paradigm that you are talking about probably applies to Free Parking, mostly.

Yeah, I do not mean threads that are meant to continue like the "show your ----" or build threads, more like the ones where a specific question is asked or tool shown, then every expert chimes in....and you know the rest!

There always has to be several pages of **** to wade through or it wouldn't be an internet forum. . . It would be great if all the real experts would just put there heads together and give all their answers in one thread. . .but then they would publish it as a service manual and we'd have to pay for it.

"Free" advice always comes with a price. . . in the case of forums. . .the price is wading through the BS to find the gold.

I read fast and scan so I usually go through an entire thread if I'm looking for specific info before I write it off. Some threads do just go down hill so fast that they are over before they start.

Some of the arguments produce good, useable info though. . .
