These days, there are a lot of good, qualified ASE folks who are out of work. Without ASE certification, as far as getting a job wrenching at a dealership....Good luck!
I was a vocational counselor for a while, I worked with Veterans but the same principles apply. . You are going to need ASE cert in most dealers or a service manager won't even talk to you. Some kind of vocational training is almost essential now days. You didn't say how old you are or what experience you already have.
