I am in the market for a Laguna 18|bx Bandsaw and was just wondering if they have any fathers days sales, or any sales coming up before I make a purchase.

I’ve looked around and they seam to have a fixed price at every store. Was just hoping for a free wheel set or any kind of deal before I make a move.
Thanks for any help.

I feel like they are running sales on something Laguna 6 out of 12 months in the year, but reality might be only 3 out of 12 for bandsaws. Nothing I'm aware of right now, but...judging by the extended sales recently offered by JET and Powermatic, it would not be unexpected to see Laguna also follow in order to move some inventory. If you don't need it right now, sit tight and wait.

I’m not in a huge hurry. Just thought they might have a Father’s Day sale and I am really ready to upgrade my old craftsman with a bigger table and some real power.

I don't think that will ship for a while - Laguna just moved from S Cal to Texas.

I have the previous version, the LT18 3000, and have been very pleased with it. The mobility kit was worth the extra money for me because I usually keep it up against the wall and pull it out when I need more room to cut something. Also, take a look at the WoodSlicer blade from Highland WoodWorking. I usually just keep their 3/4" blade mounted, but it would depend on what your going to use the bandsaw for

Yes they are saying 7-21 days on shipping. That is ok I don’t have a pressing job right now that I can’t do with my old saw.
I also got a wheel kit with it and that was on sale too. Yea!

I have to really start researching blades for this saw now. I see Laguna has a blade they call the Resaw King it has carbide teeth and looks pretty good for large resaw jobs but they sure are proud of it with the price. But it looks like it would be able to be resharpened so that is a benefit.

Yep, bought their Resaw King when I bought the bandsaw - and that was 6 years ago. Main selling point is the ability to resharpen it as you mentioned, up to 5 times. Paid $250 for the blade, and I have yet to use it! I am not really into resawing for veneers, and I have been extremely happy with the Wood Slicer. I think I have bought a total of 3 Wood Slicers, and they are about $45 each, just keep it in mind.

One thing, like most bandsaw, the blade tension gauge is way off. I ended up buying a used Lenox Blade Tension meter from eBay and compared to the built in pointer/gauge on the saw, it was reading really low.

I suggest you look at the Snodgrass video on how to set up the blade (assuming your saw has crowned tires like mine)
