Any updates on SK bankruptcy?

I'd say our best source for news would be jsackin from Epsteins. They have their ear to the ground on this sort of stuff. I'm sure they will let us know when they hear anything new.
Just in case, I picked up a S-K 3/8" ratchet rebuild kit from the local dealer. Cost me $1. I have two of those rats, and not knowing the future of S-K, I figured it was a good investment.

I have been told SK will not warranty any broken tools at this time since the bankruptcy happened.

There is a good sized industrial hardware store near a shop I need to visit this week, they used to be a full line SK dealer with a whole wall of the tools. I'll see whats up with them if they are talking.

Auto Value auto parts store in my area can't sell and warranty SK tools.This parts store is a SK dealer.

Did someone at the Auto Value store tell you why they cannot sell any in stock SK hand tools? It does not make any sense to me. I understand their stance on the warranty.

In relation to the SK bankruptcy, Tooltopia raised the price of the SK 1870, 10 piece, metric (10-19mm), spline socket set from $38.95 (as of a few weeks ago) to $59.68. I do not understand Tooltopia's logic. I would think they would keep or lower their SK hand tool prices for the ease of liquidating their stock due to the warranty not currently being honored by SK.

So they owe $10,000,000. There are 50,000 G.B members ~$200 a piece we could own SK.

Person that comes to check stock order said this,store has not sold any SK tools since this happened.

I ran into a X s-k dealer last week-end at a swap meet-he indicated that s-k owed him several thousand dollars from warrantee returns! He had raised all his prices on what stock he had to try to recover his losses!!!

Bankruptcy or not they should really update their site with some current info. First thing you see a claim of Made in USA and "Lifetime Warranty" then their "new" 2008 catalog followed by a 2009 sale. The warranty part is incredibly misleading at this time. I've yet to receive even so much as a blanket response to my warranty requests made months ago.

I just called to see if they are still accepting warranty returns by mail. Both the warranty number and the general customer service number had no answer. The warranty number said I couldn't leave a message b/c the voice mail is full.

Not a good sign.

It's been that way for months now hence my desire to see them update their site. They've had more than enough time to come up with some kind of statement. Hell, even one of those "Pardon us while we clean up our mess" signs would be a welcome sight.

Local SK dealer is a serious private tool store, they don't know much, said they heard that someone was trying to buy the SK name and tooling, but not the factory building.

This dealer will sell SK tools that he has, I bought a 1/4 set of sockets.
