Any Vulcan guys here?

I picked up some Vulcan wrenches today and it occurred to me that I don't see them around anymore. They were pretty popular in my area in the 70's. Got this set, 3/8 to 1 1/4" plus a couple extras.

Yes, Vulcan was made here by Williams. I wish I could say for certain on those particular wrenches. They look similar to many other brands' angle wrenches with the v notch open ends.

I just bought a Vulcan flare nut wrench just the other day. Works great! I've used it 5-6 times in the last week.

We used to have a Vulcan tool truck come to the hangar back in the early 80‘s. I really liked the thin wall 1/4" drive sockets, although you would occasionaly crack one. I did some internet sleuthing awhile back, & I think the Vulcan name ended up @ a law firm becase it was used to secure a business loan that was defaulted on.

Vulcan has to be one of the more rare tools to find. Around me single pcs are rare.

I saw a Vulcan 1/2" drive deep socket set at a pawn shop the other day for $ 30.00.

A friend back in the late 70s bought Vulcan tools. Toolbox and everything. Said the driver was a good guy.

Vulcan dropped off the map not long after.

I have an old Vulcan roll-around tool chest. Top and drawers don't match, but it holds tools. Need something bigger, so an upgrade is in my future.

Vulcan was the tool truck brand of Williams and actually had a warehouse in Baltimore for our area, I have a catalog from Williams and just by a wild guess the street that Williams HQ's were on was Vulcan Street so I'm guessing that is where the name came from. They closed up in the eighties around here.

They started out on Vulcan Street in Buffalo. 20 years ago, the tools were pretty common at yard sales and such in western NY.

Wow, strange timing. At the small flea market I went to on Sun. there was a somewhat beat top box, about 8 drawers as I remember. Had a drop down front cover with a chrome emblem that was broken into 3 pieces, but still there, I twisted and aligned the emblem pieces to reed "Vulcan", a name I had never seen before.

Williams tool are still at quite a few yard sales around here. Vulcan - not so much.
