Anybody ever use a "Climate Right" brand system?

Not this brand, but I've done work on other mini-splits (the name of this type of system).

Not a bad price, but unless you have access to a vacuum pump and know charging and balancing of the freon you're just taking a shot in the dark as to it working right.
And what if you have an issue? Will the seller honor the warranty when you did it yourself? Or is there a warranty?

When the mini-splits first came out, they were quite specialized. Like for additional comfort in an add-on home office, cooling a computer room, or for situations where knocking big holes in walls and running furdowns for duct work was out of the question (i.e. historical buildings). All you needed was one 4" hole in the wall, and everything ran through that one hole.
They were fairly inexpensive, too, so people started using them for everything. Of course they didn't do well with everything. Now they've redesigned them a bit and are selling them as a cure-all for any and every comfort problem. They can solve some comfort issues but just don't have too big an expectation. JMHO.

I have not used that brand, but been watching them. Can never tell who makes them, or who is stocking them. Similar to a MR COO which I did install. Both come precharged. Climate Right is cheaper and needs no hardwiring. At its price, worth a gamble!

Well if anybody wants to be the forum guinea pig and give it a try, let us know how it works out! I'm at least a few months out from needing one.
