Getting ready to pull the trigger on a new box. Looking for a 2 bank in the 56" range. Current contenders are the Extreme Tools 56" and the Gator Built 57".
The Gator Built is substantially heavier build, e.g gauge metal, drawer ratings, etc. It is also 5" deeper so it is basically a 24" deep box which is a nice size. It just recently showed up on the strictly toolboxes site but I thought maybe one of you guys had one?
Here is the link to the Gator Built
And here is the link to the Extreme Tools 56"
One thing the Extreme has going for it - besides being less expensive
- is the fact that the wide bank of drawers is 33" wide. The Gator Built wide bank is only 29.5". I initially didn't notice that and didn't think about it since the box is actually 57" vs 56". It looks like with the Gator Built there is more dimension used up for the structure of the box itself leaving slightly less for actual drawer width. Makes sense given it is 960 lbs vs. 519 lbs. Wow. 1/2ton for just the box. That's a lot of metal...
Decisions, decisions...
Thanks!
