Anybody have an MT33 Snap On compression tester?

I have one, and I got an M3545C adapter that doesn't fit it. Here is a fuzzy photo that shows the one that doesn't fit on the right, and the one that does on the left. The one on the left looks like a normal air fitting, and the one on the right has a wider ridge and is too short to go into the coupler.

I'm trying to use the tester on the 6.9/7.3L Ford/IH IDI diesels. I either need a different adapter, maybe an M3545B? Or I need an adapter to make the M3545C work with the MT33 coupler. Either way, I don't know what to look for.

Does anyone have one of these MT33s, and also have an adapter for the old IDIs? I'd surely like to know what I'm looking for!

Edited to add the solution: The Lang TU-15-15 adapter couples the Snap On M3545C adapter to the Snap On MT33C compression gauge.

That looks like GM adapter, IH/Ford are smaller dia. and longer. I made 1 from an old IH glow plug. The mini coupler was made by Hansen MFG, Cleveland, OH

That GP adapter looks like the fittings for the Star Products diesel compresson tester I have (and our kit at work). I tried to get some info on what the style of fittings were called through here years back with no luck.

Snap on sells a 45° and 90° adapter, but with no info on if it's for those, but it is included in their set that has both those air fitting looking adapters and the smaller style that's on the glow plug adapters.

Ssdave, that looks like a gas tester? The quick connects look exactly like the one that fits my diesel gauge.

The next thing I'm going to try is to go to the NAPA and see if they have a coupler that fits the one that doesn't fit my gauge.

Plan B might be to get a new connector from Snap On. They peddle a EEPD500-4 that might be what I need. Or, it might not fit my older unit.

Plan C or so would be to braze an appropriate fitting onto an old glow plug.

Ssdave, yours is for gas engines, right? Doesn't matter, but I'm curious.

Being able to tee in some compressed air for leakdown testing or to hold the valves up sounds like a great idea!

I've only used them for gas, but there's a number of threads that I have no idea what they fit; could be diesel ports.

Have you cross checked the adapter part number with a Snap on catalog?

They used to make several different adapters, but I don't think that they as many anymore.

Joel, the Snap On site lists the M10x1 adapter M3545C as being for my MT33C tester, but it doesn't fit the coupler. I bought the tester used, and it may not be the original coupler.

The current coupler is a NAPA type D, so pretty sure it's not the Snap On original. I'll get a couple more of the type D plugs, and just build my own adapters from glow plugs.

Thought about this thread over lunch at work, snapped a picture in the Snappy catalog. Pretty sure these are the adapters for your application (or just the Star branded compression tester).

Pretty sure you are right. They look like Lang adapters. Now that I know where they come from, I'll buy Lang glow plug adapters in the future, rather than springing for the Snappy version. I don't have a driver, so no service and no warranty anyway.
