Anybody have Hardi-Panel siding?

Trying to find pictures of your garages/shops with hardi-panel (the 4x8 sheets). I'm thinking of using this siding on my shop, with corruguated plastic panels on the gable ends (like a greenhouse has to let in more light). I've seen wholesalers around Atlanta selling it for $17.00 per sheet. If anyone has installed it, what are your thoughts? Easy to install? Do you have to pre-drill?

Hardi Sierra 8 on my old shop:

#6 galvanized fasteners driven per Hardi instructions, nailed on the seams, studs 24" OC. No issues after 12 years, sold the property last year. Will use the same panel on the new shop. Issues - none really. Panels are 5/16" thick and have some heft to them - about 75lbs each. Wear a mask when cutting and lay in a supply of carbide saw blades because it will eat them up. Takes paint very well - the last two pics are after 11 years of full west sun exposure on regular grade Walmart white house paint.

I just used the Hardie Stucco 4' x 8' sheets on my shop Re-model. So far i am liking the results.

I hung mine with screws so I did pre-drill the panels. IMO no matter what you use pre-drilling at least a couple of holes will make getting the panel exactly where you want it easier.

Someone on this board sent it to me half way through my install. The "trick" with the nail at the bottom to support the sheet was a HUGE help to me!! It allowed me to install mine by myself

Only picture I have. I still need to rip one sheet in half for the corner in the below Picture.

PS - on that build and the new one, I run a band of 1x4 treated around the base to isolate the siding from ground moisture and splash (since I like slabs close to the ground). It also gives a level ledge to sit the siding on.

Be sure it install flashing between the mudsill and the siding.

I used stainless steel nails in a coil nailer for my project. adjust the nose piece so the nails set flush, but not sunk in too far.

Go with the manufacture's recommendations on gaps between panels.

With the exception of cedar beams the Shrine is 100% Hardi exterior.
