Hi All,

I saw this on craigslist. I thought it was maybe a nice project. Looks old. I hear the older craftsman stuff was better quality than current toolboxes.

Any details is appreciated like

1) friction/ball bearing
2) decent deal at starting price?
3) weight per drawer?

Thank you in advance.

Whatever it is, you would be better off going to look at it than asking about it. Don't think it is going to last too long.
Good luck, Jim

ya I definitely would look at it before I buy. Just curious is it even worth $400 or near that number?

His ad shows 14 drawers@27"depth; guessing a 30"x54" top surface. May be a bit too big for some, and too old or worn for others.. If that old beast has drawers that open and close properly, and is structurally solid, that would be allot of toolbox for $400.

if that's a Craftsman it's from the industrial line of Waterloo, which I almost never see for sale around here. Looks awesome

Thanks for the posts. I emailed him to see if it is still available. I like it because it is very deep. Being worn is not an issue for me since I can use that as an excuse to mod/"fix" it. :).

This Garage Journal is the death of me or my money. I had a few vise grips and screw drivers as my tool collection in a small portable toolbox. Now I have 2 26inch toolboxes and thinking of upgrading to this beast!

It is an earlier waterloo magnum or craftsman industrial (same box). The giveaway is the the middle row of casters. Its old, early 90's is my guess. I'd lean towards a waterloo based on the deeper drawer on one side. Craftsman had same size in both banks.

:+1: For a waterloo magnum.

Craftsman had different handles push handles.

On a side note though, I think that black rectangle on face of the box is where the lock went. It had a little metal sliding door to cover it. :dunno:
