Never heard of them but added a kit to my ongoing Zorro cart.
Waiting for another sale before I pull the trigger.
They look pretty good and for around $20 I will give them a try.

Small companies make the best ****. More often than not they manufacture for larger tool companies. They're small and they seem to specialize so at that price you might as well take a shot.

I'd give 'em a shot if I hadn't just recently snagged a set of Makita Gold phillips bits. Supposedly impact rated - I'm just using them in a bit driver handle. Precise tip profile should do all I need.

Just looked at their webpage and looks like they aren't far from me! In fact, I think I passed by them a couple times before.

Aside from that they bits look interesting in the way they are deigned, I am getting a set to try out.

Where are they made?

Not sure, they are located in Cali but when you read on their site about them, there is much mention of manufacturing, but not where it is done. This is usually an indication they import, when the manufacture in the US, most companies make sure to point it out. Importing is not always a bad thing, if they have good QC, they could be good.

I took a shot and ordered s set, once I get them and try them out, I'll leave some feedback.

Found out they are made in Taiwan. Vega customer service did not contact me about my inquiry. Information source from retailer of Vega bits.

Thanks for posting this ^. I am going to remove them from my cart on Zorro.
I was thinking they were US made .
I was waiting on a coupon code before pulling the trigger on my order.

I emailed them awhile back about if they would be good in an impact driver. It went like this:"
VHS100A Vega Standard Master Industrial Screwdriver Bit Set, 100 Piece

Are the bits in this set good for use in an impact driver? ( 1,200 in. Lbs. Torque) Usually products specify but I can't find it.

Is this set covered by a warranty? Thanks*@#$

Jacob,

*@#$

I truly apologize for the time frame to get back to you.*@#$ I had this question in to our vendor contact and chalked the length to the holidays, but it seems the gentleman no longer works for the company.*@#$ I got our new contact information and got your question answered though!*@#$

*@#$

He says that 75% of the bits in the VHS100A set are NOT for use in an impact driver.*@#$ As far as the warranty goes, if they were being used in that, obviously that would not be covered, but if they were being used in the correct application, the bits would be covered for any manufacturing defects.

*@#$

Thank you.

My local industrial supplier stocks Vega. After installing a deck and a few other projects I have to agree that they are noticeably better than the typical home improvement center bits. My #2 robertson and phillips bits have some wear marks on them but they are far from worn out.

That said, my opinion would be that the Makita gold made in Japan bits seem to be a bit better. Can't give you a screw count or anything quantitative.

Have also tried Zephyr, Apex, and Qualtool, all made in USA. They are top notch and I'd recommend whichever you can find.

We use Vega # 2 Robertson quite a bit at work, they are stout and fit the screw head really well. Sometimes too well, have to yank at the impact driver to free from head of screw.
