Anybody know anything about pneumatic riveters?

I've been looking for a pneumatic pop riveter and see prices ranging everywhere from $60 all the way up to $800. Obviously, the lower priced models are imports. I will be using this to build flight cases which means 200 or so rivets per project depending on the size of the case. I don't want cheap **** but I don't want to spend a grand on it either. My budget is $200 - $300. Any suggestions?

I bought one that retails for over $500 for less than $100 shipped.

Most are imports. The real ones cost big money.

Get yourself a Cherrymax off eBay. Download some of their product catalogs and start reading up. They have a lot of informative information about proper rivet installation.

I bought mine a few years ago from Day Motorsports when I was building circle track racecars and it has held up very well to alot of abuse. If I remember correctly it was less than $50 bucks but they have gone up slightly since then. I use a work-supplied Jonnesway (Taiwan?). I'm the only one that ever oils it, and it gets used by a few of us daily for the past 2-3 years.

Not sure on the price, pretty sure it's a cheap-o

I have a Huck pistol style that was expensive and did not last. I even sent it off for a rebuild and had it **** out again. I'd advise you stay away from it. I have a buddy who has a hand me down bottle style that has been ticking forever, it's labeled as a Mac, but I doubt that's who actually made it.

I have the Huck hydraulic unit, works good in tight spaces, but when I was doing the Volt battery recall with a brazillion 1/4" rivets, I picked up the H/F unit. Aside from the little plastic thing that was supposed to catch the rivets breaking, it's worked fine for at least 30 cars wort of structural rivets.

Spring for a 1/4" capacity unit. I have the HF 1/4" riveter and it works great. No complaints at all. I've used it weekly for the past 5 years.

I have sold about 25 of them on ebay....POP guns ( yup that is the name)...for some reason everyone goes crazy for them....I get about $100-150ea out of them....if you check it out that that works for you let me know I will get one for you from my grainger scratch and dent guy..

New, the Jonnesway goes for about $580 (list) That's what I ended up with.

So far, it works great!
