Anybody know anything about ScatCat blasting booths?

Anybody have any experience with these blasting booths?
Looks to be made in the US and I believe this model retails for about $1600-$1800.

EDIT - I was looking at the wrong model. TPTools retails this model for $1100 + 185 shipping to my house

A local business is closing it's doors and the owner is accepting bids on equipment.

First of all, I don't know anything about the brand or the model.
Secondly, I don't know what would be a fair offer.

The pics are of the actually unit for sale.

Allegedly it works as it should.

I don’t think I would offer more than 50% of new. The various bits can add up $$.

Based on the pics it does have a filter/vacuum.

Looking closer at the pics, it is a model SC-35V

TP Tools sells it for $1100 (+185 shipping for me in Zone 1)

A Skat cabinet is ten times the cabinet a Harbor Freight cabinet is. A HF cabinet goes for $230, less any coupon, and is cheesy compared to ****, with poor quality gloves, a plastic window (I think), poor sealing, a garbage gun, poor lighting, and no vacuum.

I think $500 for the cabinet in question would be a steal.

$260 seems really low for what it is. If you actually need a cabinet, that same one new is going to cost ~$1400 to your door. I would think $400-500 would be a good to great deal for what it is. Is it going to need more than $200-300 worth of parts?? It looks to be in great shape.

That sounds more reasonable. Above $800 might not be worth it as then you might be in the $1100-1200 range with necessary parts..

If you buy the HF you are going to put many hundreds of $ into it to get to the same place. I have a friend that did that and he ended up at something like $900, including the vacuum, and a bazillion hours of his time. And then he was like, "d'oh, I could've just bought the **** Blast for a few hundred more and not spent all my time...."

I'm not sure what is going on recently but people are starting to bid these things up for (what I would call) crazy money. I missed two auctions on Govdeals, one went for $575 and the other for $380 something .

The good thing is there is always another one to bid . . . $288 with tax and buyers premium. About 25 miles away.

Had one years ago. Worked fine but I didn't use it enough as I originally planned and sold it. Picked it up where they're made in Ohio.

The only improvement I would make would be some sort of replaceable lens protector inside the cabinet to prevent the glass from getting damaged/hard to see through.

I worked with a mid-sized one. It was OK, but not at all awesome. Better than the $200-$300 HF cabinets, but that's a really low bar. It still clogged and skipped, despite having a really big dessicant filter. I'm beginning to suspect that pressure feed works better.

A brand new one is $1100 and I could always make a road trip to Ohio to pick it up at TP Tools & Equipment.
By the time I paid $580 or better for this used one and replaced any worn parts, I'd just as soon buy a new one.
