Seen this tray at a yard sale and noticed it was a little longer than the standard carry boxes so I thought it might fit my longer box that's missing a tray but unfortunately it's longer than it too. Now I'm curious what it might've been for, looks well built and the coating is alot more than I'd seen even on expensive boxes. Length is 21-3/8 inches.

Figured another toolbox collector on here might recognize it since it's a little different.

Socket tray, not sure if they were ever stamped from the maker. I have a handful of them.
Haven't seen any marked either(including this one as far as I've looked) but the textured paint and it being longer than normal made me think it might be part of a decent box. Also socket section divider is folded in on itself instead of a soldered on section which I haven't seen before.

You'd think 3 folds versus soldering one piece with 1 simple fold wouldn't make a difference for the mfg but a cost of a half penny more is a half penny lost with most of these carry boxes. They always go for the cheapest and simplest process.

Textured paint is a feature? I’ve been improving all my toolboxes by putting orange peel paint in them? Cool!

Factory is, too expensive for mfgs. I've seen some thicker coats but alot of the stuff I've seen it's just a thin coating that scraps off before it can get scratches.

If you don't use mats then textured paint would be an upgrade, harder to have stuff sliding around if there's a little bit of friction. Plus it does look nicer on interior sections.

I have a craftsman one like that.
I looked at some craftsman boxes, had a common grey carry box that was shorter, and found out the grey mech boxes also had trays. If yours is textured too I think this one would be for a small mech box.

Paint looks a lot like a HOMAK I have.
Can OP add a couple more photos of different angles?
