I dont have the 6' ones, but went with the 8' ones. I really like them. Strong and well build...lots of drawer space. I bought 3/4" Oak plywood for countertops, and used two layers.

Now that looks good, unfortunately I don't have that much extra space. Good to hear that they are sturdy.

I'm trying to hold off on buying one of these also. (The 8' length.)

There's some kind of Craftsman Club savings events coming up in just under 2 days. Once I see how that shakes out I'm going to buy something for the garage either way. :)

That is exactly what I did...ended up getting a very respectable discount on them. I was able to combine a sale they had online, the Craftsman club discount, etc...and had them shipped to my local store so there was no shipping either!

Nice.

I ordered a single 8 footer with the butcher block top. I initially ordered the stainless top, but chickened out after I started thinking about hitting it with a hammer. :D

Is there an appreciable difference between the bamboo and the butcher block tops?

Some of the reviews on the Sears website say the drawer, shelf, and back wall add-ons are very cheap/flimsy. I was going to get one until I read that. Can anyone who owns one shine some light on those options?

I like 'em, in the store, but I can't get past being able to buy 48' of 2" 14 gauge square tube, a sheet of MDF and a can of red spray paint for not quite $100. That's that DIY thing getting in the way ;)

i have two of the 6ft benches with the stainless top. love them. the other day i ended up putting one of the cabinet door attachments on it to hold my frige and its a semi solid setup. the door is flimsy for sure, but overall for 100+ bucks its not bad. i plan on getting the drawer setup soon but as others have said, they are kinda flimsy.

Well, my garage cleanup/re-org has finally begun.

In preparation for the 8' Craftsman bench and 52" box I ordered, I landed a decent score on CL in the 5 drawer rolling carts you see below. (3 carts plus the one rolling tool cart)

It started with these, which got a nice helping of degreaser before they officially moved in.

That gave way to this. Now, I realize there's a ton of **** in the front left corner of the garage, but once I can pull the Mustang out, it's just a spare box of the stock parts off the Lotus that'll end up in the attic.

My plan is to situate these rollers under the work bench so I don't have to worry about the flimsy add ons. :)

As you can see in the back ground of the picture, I've been stacking a lot of **** on both sides of my refrigerator. I'm so tired of tripping over my own stuff, or worse; spending more time looking for tools than actually using them, that it's about time I finally got around to getting organized.

Here are a few more pics from today. I apologize in advance for the crappy cellphone pictures.

A smaller concern was in making sure enough room remains for both cars to fit and still have a small slice of work space that doesn't require backing the car out. Sure, backing the car out gives me the most room (thank you captain obvious, I know), but in a pinch I should still have enough room with the car inside to knock out a quick this or that.

The incoming bench shouldn't be much wider than what you see here, so it looks like it'll all work out nicely.
