My mother and father put that stuff up on the ceiling of their enclosed porch years ago, and it still looks great today!

It is easy to clean, gives the ceiling a kind of wains coating look, and was VERY easy to put up.

Their porch is kind of like a 3 season room. There is no heat or air conditioning out there, just windows to open up when the weather is nice.

It brightens up the porch, and best of all it came pre-finished so there was no real prep to installing it. Which is what my mother wanted so it could be used right away.

I second that motion.

It only took reading one sentence to then notice the avatar.

We need to see if she is really all that :lol_hitti

That paneling is usually glued in place over drywall and is used in bathrooms, or was used. Most new buildings probably require FRP or NRP as the masonite stuff will puff up once water gets to a scratch on it.

It might work good for a ceiling if you can support it properly, but I have not tried it.

That stuff is usually a special finish on 1/8 inch paneling.
I use it for a sacrificial workbench top.
For a ceiling it would depend on the spacing of the fastening to prevent sagging.

I read a bunch of reviews and many people used in the garages for walls. I was wandering about the ceiling cause thought the gloss would reflect light well. I have a 30x40 Im doing with studs every 24" thought I could pre drill and screw it with a pan head type screw and run it the opposite direction of the studs. It's cheap is why I looked at it and the gloss finish.

Some people Google pretty well I didn't even know her name:dunno:

Just used a piece for a sacrificial workbench top for my wife who makes jewelry. If you could keep it from sagging it would be nice for a ceiling.

Wonder if I did fairing strips on the seems and ran them the opposite way the studs go would get rid of the sagging problem?

I put the brown version up in a bay about 10 yrs ago. The joists are 16 oc. we stripped it and it has held up good. I am going to use the white in the shop I am building now.
