Anyone else a Sun Equipment junkie??

Great thing! Have half of it in my office as a decoration. And a Master Motor Tester in 1950's red.

Started 2020 with two disassembled/non functional Sun 1020 to maintain my classic cars.
After some investigation and a lot of work one 1020 was alive again.
To get some missing accessories I bought another 745…
In the meantime the second „donor“ 1020 works 95% too and is used as decoration in my garage.
These mid 1960’s machines have point to point wiring, in the meantime I have wiring diagrams and calibration manuals for the 1020, but they work for the smaller like the 745, too.
Last summer I found just the modules from a 1120…
This week I found time to take care for them. Everything but the dwell works after some hours. The moduls look similar outside but now everything is done with PCB‘s inside.

I'm an Allen junkie but now I can say I have a Sun too. I do like it but for various reasons I won't be switching from the Allens, they are better for most things.

This came up on Ebay a week or so back. The model name on it is "TUT" for "Tune Up Tester". First Sun tune up tester I have seen that includes a vacuum gauge. It is essentially new in the box. There is a tiny bit of wear on one of the alligator clips that tells me that it has been hooked up a couple of times. But inside and out this thing looks new. The copyright date on the instruction manual is January 1954. A couple of things on the machine fit in with that date - the shape of the meter housings and the design of the serial number plate. I found a note written on a bracket on the chassis inside - "Calibrated 11-74 WB". When this came up on Ebay I just couldn't help myself. It is the best looking Sun gizmo in my collection by far. The seller told me that he bought it at an estate sale.

Anybody have a catalog that shows this to help nail down the date?

What is the intended way for the Sun vacuum connector to be used? It is tapered internally.

Was it meant to go over hose?
