I was stuck on Proto and Plomb pear heads for a while until I got all I wanted and then moved on like I always do.

Thanks to lowes and Home Depot I went on a vice and clamp binge.

This week been on a wrench bin. Got sets of williams stubbys coming from amazon.

Was in two sears and almost assembled a USA metric professional wrench set. While there saw a set of 6 pt raised panel USA wrench set. Got it and a few singles to almost complete the set.

Been laying here debating another amazon or ebay wrench purpose

Previously was on storage, stanley boxes, plano, schaller. Mom saw the store room and asked if I had a "storage box fetish".

Getting geared up for a shop build, hopefully this fall. 40/60 slab waiting on building.

And I thought I was alone with this "problem". Pliers seem to be my downfall.
When Trusty Cook had their sale I bought 6 different ones. They are great hammers though! 1/4 ratchets are another problem. As are the various types of screw drivers, terminal block, JIS,clutch head ,and the list goes on...

I've been on a 3/4" drive kick, myself. Thinking about 1" drive now, as I have 2 rats and no socks for 'em.

I started putting together a 3/4 set in the early 90's, and got as far getting a 41 mm socket and a few ratchet/driver pieces.

For some reason ($$$$?) I stopped back then.

For some reason during the last 3 months I got obsessed with completing a set.
In metric and SAE no less. :dunno:
I've never needed one. :dunno:

I think I'll pass on the 1" stuff.

I have no logical or rational explanation for this sudden urge.

Sickness could be answer.

Me too, I have used a 3/4 ratchet exactly 3 times in my life...taking apart my Reed 204-1/2 vise, doing some work on my dad's Farmall M, and on some industrial machinery at work. Yet I have a complete set of SAE sockets in 3/4 drive from 7/8 thru 2-3/8. It is a mish mash but the ratchet and a lot of the sockets are Bonney. Also a lot of Wright and Proto. Since I don't have a lot invested, less than $100, and it sees occasional use, I don't feel that is bad.

And let's not forget machinist tools...I have so many specialty 0-1 micrometers I have lost count. And I still look for more! Here is a prime example, the Starrett #223RL 0-11/32" paper gage micrometer, and it's little friend the Brown & Sharpe #230, 0-1/2". They both feature floating wobble anvils to accommodate uneven material, like the rear swivel jaw on some bench vises. Do I use either of these? Well, they are both calibrated. I use a regular mic most times but in a few instances these are handy. I think the finger ring on the Starrett is the cat's meow.
