My 2645 has had a skewed blade from brand new. It's a few days old. I have to hold it at an angle to get it to cut straight.

A quick check of the Amazon reviews shows this is a common issue.

Anyone here have this issue? It's annoying.

Anyone adjust their saw to cut straight? It shouldn't be too difficult but I haven't looked into it, yet.

i read a couple reviews on this tool cause ive been wanting to buy one - and one guy suggested that at first he wasnt installing the blades correctly and was getting the same results other people complained about - but then figured out he was not pushing the blade all the way into position. once he corrected the way he was installing the blade eveything was fine..

also - no jigsaw will cut thick material perfectly square, especially if you try to cut it fast.. the blade is flexible and commonly make a "curved" vertical cut.. dont know if either of these are your issue, but id make sure the blade is all the way in first.

I have, exchanged it and no problems. After some use the plate started to loosen up but I tightened it down and has been fine ever since

Interesting. This saw doesn't feel like it accepts blades properly. I really have to push to get them in.

I'm going to have a closer look and exchange, if necessary. Thanks.

This is a nice saw. I gave a buddy my DeWalt corded jigsaw and replaced it with this one.

I sorely miss having a headlight. The older I get, the more difficult it is to see pencil lines on dark wood.

Other than the headlight and the potential QC issue with the blade skew, this saw is everything it needs to be. It is easily a replacement for a corded saw. There is no need for more power or runtime so I have no requirement for a FUEL version of this saw, although I would buy one if it had a headlight.

I'm reviving this thread, I hate my 18V Milwaukee jig saw, the blade has a mind of its own. It does not track well at all. Yes its inserted properly in the collar, there some side to side play so the blade tends to go where ever you don't want it to go. Anybody else found this issue with their saw.

I'm a big fan of Milwaukee tools, especially the M18 series. This jigsaw has serious blade issues, at least mine does. The blade is all over the place. It was noticable when new and now has gotten to the point that I only use it when absolutely necessary. When blade is inserted I can turn the blade side to side or about from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock. Not sure if the blade lock is bad and can just be replaced to fix the issue or not?

I have the m18 Jigsaw too with very similar issues. The blade is inserted all the way but it cuts horribly. I had it on a job site where there was a dewalt XR jigsaw being used and all the new guys were convinced that milwaukee is **** and dewalt is king all because of the performance differences between jigsaws. The shoe plate wobbles even when locked down?? That shouldn't happen. I've used the saw maybe 20 times. Is there anyway to get the shoe to stop having so much play even when locked?

My jig saw is 6 months old...keeps coming loose when i use it. Annoying. The black lever pops open and the saw leans left or right. Terrible design. Unless I'm doing something wrong, its not a good saw to use. I get the blade bending, but the saw itself teeters left and right.
