Is there anyone else thats got an outdoor workbench. I use mine for scrapping and stuff that just makes a mess that I don't want to do in my garage. I even put a little lamp in the tree for when the projects carry over into the evening. Anyone else got pics? Here's a picture of mine I took on this unusually warm evening.

I screwed a piece of plywood onto a palette, then added some 2x4 legs... throw a tarp over it when not in use... it's worked out pretty well for me.

I use it when I'm rattle canning something, or grinding/sanding. I create a makeshift jig by screwing wood blocks right into the plywood, and clamping the piece to the blocks.

I have an old fake marble bathroom countertop mounted on a 2*4 frame. Tall kitchen faucet plumbed to the garden hose. Spotlight abov and electrical outlet. I mainly use it to clean fish but its a great workbench too.

I have one that is "kind of" out doors. I mounted one to the back of a door I built to the back addition to my shop. I use it to fix, clean, and maintain my yard and garden equipment. The work bench is hinged and folds up when not in use or when I close the door. These are pics I took last Fall as I was rebuilding the addition. Nothing is painted yet...

My welding table is on wheels, and rolls outside for messy work.

I too use an old pic-nic table made from pressure treated 2x4's as an outside work bench for painting/staining, chop sawing (to keep the metal dust to a minimum), and any other task where I don't want a mess to walk through. It's on gravel so cleanup is easy!

Both my benches are on casters.

Come to think of it...most of my stuff is on casters.

When I need space inside, I just move all my mess outside. If it is cold I just roll it all around until I have the space I can be satisfied with.:headscrat

Now if I could just get rid of the junk that never moves I may actually be able to get something done.:shocking:

My welding bench is on wheels, and if I need something bigger I have three Workmates I can carry outside.....

When I lived in Sandy Eggo I had a steel bench that lived outside all year long.....

That's a good idea. I've got some barn doors that need that treatment! Thanks.

Yeah, I have one and love it. I enjoy working outside anytime the weather is nice enough to allow it.

I call this my "Black Widow Workbench" (hopefully the reason for my name is obvious to you ;)) The set of legs closest to the building is buried in the ground. The other end is just setting on the grass so it can be taken down easy for mowing (although, I have yet to take it down). It is plenty stable that way for the stuff I do out there (wood cutting with circular and saber saw, metal cutting with the abrasive saw, grinding, etc. - all the stuff that generates a lot of dust)

Its that shape only because it was made from the scraps generated when the main rafter gussets were cut out of 4x8 sheets for my place.

But after using it for quite a few years now, I don't think I would change it's shape. It lends itself well to ripping sheet of plywood without slicing through the table and using the jigsaw for cutouts as shown here. The V-shaped side edges also work well for cutting notches or drilling holes near the edge of the workpiece while still supporting it firmly.

I'm on my second set of plywood vees because they don't stand up to the weather very well and I have one more set of gusset scraps to use before I need to buy something new. I think when that time comes, I'm going to build a very similar shaped workbench out of stainless and it will be located in the same spot - under my Hickory tree.

That's a pretty nice design! I suddenly know what to do with all those scrap plywood triangles I kept all these years!

Got this from Home Depot several years ago. Folds flat, or swings open to form an 'x'. Set a piece of plywood on top, instant outdoor workbench.

The 80s era Workmate is still in use.

The truck tailgate gets as much use as anything else.

But because of the frequent rain in FL, tropical storms, hurricanes, etc., I don't leave anything outside. Wouldn't last long.

Here's mine I recently built. The top is made of 2x6 ripped down to 2.5 inches and laminated together. It's under the eaves of the garage, so it is somewhat protected. I'm planning on putting in a hitch mount for a small vise and grinder.

I got the same table outside, I also want to know who sells them!
Its got two spots on each side for outlets to be installed,
My dads shop threw it out, bad part is the fake wood top flaking.
