The quality is probably about the same, but I just like them better. I also like how they come in the metal box sets, makes it easier to take out of the box and account for them.

I've seen some Allen tools at Advance and Sears, but the stuff I've picked up has all said China on the back. Given, those were all hex key sets, but they're the right price for what they are. The wrenches look a lot like Kobalt before the LG-Sourcing hardline revamp last year.

Finally found the 3/8 flex-head! ....
Looks like a Rp with a silk hat on it to me...does it have the same internals?

Dont know. I haven't taken it apart. I'm not sure I want to, it's brand new. All I know is it IS Allen and made in U.S.A.

Yes, it should have the regular Apex tools internals used (or formally used) in Craftsman, NAPA, KD etc.

Yeah, I noticed the internals for my round head Allen an K-D ratchets are EXACTLY the same. Too bad Apex decided to outsource current production, though.

I was hesitant, but they're quite decent. I reviewed their T-handle hex drivers a couple of weeks ago, and were quite pleased with the design and quality.
They're nearly identical to the presumably Danaher-made Craftsman, but at a lower pricepoint. Imported, yes, but USA designs don't offer the same features.
I've got more hex keys and drivers than I know what to do with. These are far from the best I've used, but even further from the worst.
That said, I'm still a little hesitant, but have an open mind.

I have a 3/8 drive Allen flex head ratchet that broke the reversing arm on it and I went to 3 different Menards,and the first question out of all 3 stores was "Do you have the receipt for it"? Of course I dont have it,as I am used to Craftsman tools and walking in and getting a replacement,no questions asked.
I ended up raiding a newer Craftsman ratchet that I have of the reversing arm,then took the Craftsman ratchet in a Sears store,which they rebuilt no questions asked.
My Menards exchanged a broken tipped screwdriver no problem, at least Menards usually has those machines that let you print receipts if you really need one. I'm pretty much fed up and done with Craftsman and all their china ****, I'm looking for alternatives. Craftsman warranty is still one of the best in the business IMHO

Nice! I have that same set. I like the industrial finish look on tools. Too bad more companies don't have them.

I have a few of their tools,made in the USA which have held up.I did try this once,took the guts out of a Craftsman 1/2 drive ratchet and put them in my Allen 1/2 drive flex head ratchet.Then put in the same part out of the flex head ratchet in my Craftsman ratchet.I did this with the drive head part.Fit in with no problems at all and operates the same.

I have the 7mm. Bought it when my trusty Easco went MIA. Of course the Easco turned up, so I'm good for 50 years now, seeing how having just one 7mm lasted me 25!
I haven't seen any tiawan made Allen stuff, the new stuff I've seen is all cheap Chinese junk. I like Allen tools, but you have to be very careful about country of origin.

I imagine the Taiwan made Allen tools are no better or worse than the Taiwan stuff you can buy locally.

I've never seen any Allen brand wrenches or anything made in Taiwan that I can remember. But I have seen a lot of Chinese Allen tools.
I bought a set of wrenches I thought would be USA made, but they turned out to be Chinese. I returned them.
