Anyone else like Channellocks?

Picked these up today at the local pawn shop for $10. 440, 426 and 350S. Didn't really need the 350S, not sure how they are best used, seem like a linemans pliers but with spring assisted opening? Either way, for $5 I wasn't going to pass them up, they are like brand new.

Three pair of used Channellocks that are still in good useable condition for ten bucks? That's a nice price. I would have bought them too.

I try to pickup channellock pliers whenever I see them on sale. I never have luck finding anything of value at the local pawn shops.
The small pair of pliers in the picture come in handy. I use them for just about everything.

Only if that Ironworker is a school girl. I bought a pair on sale, I am used to a high leverage number 9, wrecked them in short order.

If I'm not mistaken, Do It Best is one of the licensees of the Channellock brand name for imported stuffs, which I'm pretty sure those knives, lights and tape measures are. I believe that they've positioned it as their house brand.
They have seemingly exclusive access to a bunch of stuff under the brand which isn't domestic production.
DIB is also the source for the blue Channellock 26" toolboxes (identical to Craftsman stuffs).

Got this set of NOS Channellock Aviation Snips today!!! #609R, #609S & #609L
^^^^^ Wow Travis, what a great find! I didn't even know Channellock made those snips. They seem to have had a fairly diverse offering of tools at one time. I wonder why they cut so many from their product line? Also, do you think those snips were actually made by Channellock, or possibly by another manufacturer? They look a little like Midwest brand snips.

It wouldn't surprise me if Midwest or another company made them. They do have Channellock engraved in them, along with USA. The only other markings I could find was a letter J on them. I'll try to take some close up photos later tonight!

Those 350s pliers used to be called "Rebar Pliers". I checked and Klein is calling that style "Ironworker Pliers" now as well.
Those NOS Channellock tin snips look like USA Stanley to me. I have Wiss snips of various ages and they are all more narrow around the hinge area. My Midwest snips are wider like the Channellock ones shown, but there are quite a few small visual differences. The Midwest snips I have were all purchased within the last 10 years though, so maybe the Channellocks are a match with older ones.
I have a single pair of Stanley's that I got as part of a tool lot at an estate sale a while ago, and upon comparison they appear to be a possible match. The attached picture is one I just grabbed quickly from Ebay because I am lazy. The second one down on the right is the one I have and it is marked Stanley 1543S. I don't know it's actual age since I bought it used, but it is USA made so that dates it a little bit. The pair of snips on the bottom right might also be a pair of Stanley's, because that's what the back of mine look like and the hinge bolt, screws, and nut all look the same.

Bummer! When I saw that you posted, I figured that you scored something good. Maybe next time. I'll have to find a do it best nearby and see what they have.

Got these in the mail today! NOS Channellock #48. They came in a white pouch, however, thanks to Jeff Moss, I have a #48 blue pouch waiting for them to go in!!

I've used a pair of those to pull THOUSANDS of staples from the floors in my house when replacing carpet and vinyl throughout. I think flooring installers are sadists the way they use so many damn staples!
Thanks Snap. I did buy the #318s a while back, but I've been considering another pair. I was looking at the #317s at Home Depot a few days ago. Maybe I'll stop buy there on the way home from work. You're right about the #318s, they're a little more heavy duty.

I haven't gone through the entire thread, but if you haven't already got yourself some #209 oil filter pliers and #960 electrical locknut pliers (invaluable if you do any residential electric), those two styles would make good additions to your collection (and toolbox).

I have a Knipex, channel lock, and crescent needle nose. I always go for the channel locks.
