I love the old school look of those, where'd you get those from?

Picked up a pair of 526 slip joints yesterday and found the 415 at the Ace in Claxton, GA (home of the famous Claxton Fruitcake Company), so I grabbed those as well. Went to the flea market today and gave an old couple $4 for some worn-out Champion DeArment 420s with the 1930s patent on them. I passed on them at first since the jaws are nearly as smooth as the 415s, but couldn't let them sit there without Channellock companions. :)

Stopped by the Georgetown True Value outside of Savannah and found the barest tool section I've ever seen. One 526 represented the Channellock brand, a single Gardner Bender wire stripper hung next to a GB coax crimper, a US-made Milwaukee corded circular saw was on display with none on the shelf, a lone DW705 miter saw was on the floor with a shipping label from '02, and they had a lone Firestorm battery representing their cordless tool section along with one off-brand and it's charger. It literally looked like they hadn't restocked the tool section in years; on the other hand, they had a nice selection of locally made crafts and art as well as decent amount of supplies from paint to electrical.

I also stopped by the Glennville Do It Best yesterday. Their Channellock selection is limited to a few pliers, the staplers, and wet/dry vacs and accessories.

I just got this Channellock #5410. Yeah, I needed it like another hole in the head!! I feel a "blue" binge coming on! I bought a pair of #430s about a week or so ago. I didn't need those either.

I have a few channel locks and they're nice. I recently went on a Irwin buying binge. I just ordered a Milwaukee cordless impact so I feel a Milwaukee buying spree coming.

Thanks Travis.... Didn't even remotely need them, but had to have them, like a lot of tools I buy these days... That being said, and in an effort to justify my purchase, I didn't have a pair of large slip joint pliers. The #5410 is 10" long and I would catagorize them as a medium to heavy duty tool. The rivit joint is tight and there's zero slop when I close the jaws together. Like most Channellock tools I've purchased in the last couple years, I feel like I got a pretty good bang for the buck (actually 20 bucks in this case). At the very least, they temporarily satisfied my itch to buy a new hand tool.

I received these in the mail today. NOS #526 and #460. I already had a NOS pair of the 460's in the white pouch, but I prefer the blue pouch!:D Think I may sell the white pouch 460's.

Nice additions Travis!! I really like those 460s.

and

Wow Bobcat! What a great store!! Unfortunately I can't think of a single store near me that has the selection and volume of Channellocks that appear to be available in the store you depicted. Lucky you... Where is it located and what's the name of it?

Yeah., the one in Martinsville had the most.. I've travelled there specifically for certain CL items. The one in Columbus and Greenwood have the basic / same set. I'd say maybe 12-15 different items.. No where as organized as the reference above..

I didn't know Channellock made this screw starter. I don't know if I'll ever use it or not, but we'll see. I know Craftsman sold a similar version years ago and I've had my out for one of those to add to my =V= era collection. Anyway, this one satisitified my itch for something "blue."

I really don't know for sure Outlaw. There's nothing on it that leads me to believe that it's a Western Forge product or not. It very well could be....or not. The only other one I've seen seen was a Craftsman version (clear handle with blue dye around the shank) on Ebay about a year ago, and it was from the =V= era (no part number). I bid on it but not aggressively enough and that was that.

Yeah, maybe not. I saw the end ball and jumped...

Here is the WF Craftsman like you mentioned, and an older Stanley driver handle for comparison.

It doesn't quite match either... :dunno:

^^^^^ Hey Outlaw let me know when you want to part with that Craftsman screw starter!!! Actually, the Channellock handle is shaped more like the Stanley. Thanks for the pic.

I have many different brands of pliers but Channellock offers some of the best bang for the buck out there. Here's the ones I keep at home.
