I don't know about you guys, but I think this custom Channellock tool hanger is f*c*n badass!!!! It's motivated me to restore another Channellock pegboard display that I have that is not pictured.....just awesome!!:beer:

Your Channellock corner reminds me of something I would see at the old True Value store on the square where I grew up... They had everything!

I like Channellock, have some of there pliers, a "universal" socket/ratchet set (Taiwan made) and some crescent wrenches. Black/blue ratchet is Channellock. 87ba674e8a0f5e4bf5af23f12b2ba2d5.jpg

Just a few but most used. Planning to pick up more the next time I'm at Home Depot.

Yes, I like them.
Have been buying Channel Lock ever since I discovered that the tool truck brand
side cutters looked identical to the the channel lock brand ones. They are reasonable cost and stand up great.
Love the code blue adjustable wrench, I have worn out the rubber handle.

I recently added a couple of used pieces, another pair of slip joint pliers and some 909 wire crimpers.

Yeah that's the stuff Do It Best (formerly HWI) has been selling for years. Channellock is licensing the name to some overseas manufacturer for those items.

So here's the extent of my Channel Locks

But the two at the lower left come by me used. The 12" Griplock and Linesman

Linesman pliers I actually found them in the grass on my lawn when I was out mowing in the following Spring after a dum azz contractor driving on the roadway one cold February day 15 below zero and not paying attention, drifted over too far and hit the power pole feeding my house, shearing it off and dragging it with the utility box on his truck. Tearing the service line, meter box, siding, everything right off the house.

Off course the doors on his truck box all blew open and just about everything he had got scattered for 100 feet screws nails everything quite a mess. So he's out in the road yelling about his truck and tools. I come over and said hey maybe when your done picking up you should take a look at my house too! :p

Half the gable end was missing :D

DFB, I love those old style screwdrivers.

The old screw holding tips. I just went to site looking around didn't see anything similar now.

I didn't go through every page in this thread yet and maybe they been pictured before. But often handy to have a tool around like that some days. :D

I believe Channellock bought Upson Bros. many years ago which made the HOLD-E-ZEE screwdrivers.
I have a couple 4 in 1s with that style handle, will post a pic tonight.

Took my 460 out of the package today. Bought it on a whim at a good price last year. What. A. Beast. Perfect for what I needed to do. Pictured with my next larger pair.

I like e'm, There's not a Damn thing wrong with them.
well made for the most part.

They are quality made, and I own a few myself.

Agreed......and exactly why I started the thread. Good quality USA made tools at an affordable price. I hope people keep supporting them so they don't take their entire production overseas. Go Blue!!!!

Speaking of which. The blue is another reason I like them.

I don't like Channel Lock anymore. I threw away a slip joint and a regular pliers because I got tired of it sticking/freezing when I went to use and you'd have to fiddle with it and exercise it to get it unstuck.

Replaced with Stanley slip joint from Wal-Mart and will maybe buy a regular plier locally (Kobalt or Lumberyard brand) if I end up needing a pair. I am kind of in buy as needed mode now instead of having it on hand for the future.

Since "regular pliers and "slip joints" are the same thing, your post is a bit confusing.

Are you meaning Arc joints?

Did you try taking them apart and cleaning the inside surfaces? Looking for burrs?

If they are cared for. This will not happen. Not saying you don't care for your tools. Just speaking from experience. A bit of WD 40 or oil goes a long way

I walk through the tool stores and look for Made in USA. So in the basket the blue handled beauties go. Favorite is the oil filter wrenches.

I own a pair of knipex alligator, channellock 430, proto powertrack II, Crescent USA R212 and a Diamalloy HL116P 16". Anyone know if channellock made pliers for crescent or proto? They both look very similar, but then again, most tongue and groove pliers do nowadays.

I meant I had two pair. A tongue and groove and then a slip joint.

Im a bit of a tool polisher, and they are unable to be assembled. It is like they are riveted.

Were these newer tools or older?
The anti-rust coating Channellock uses can cause the tongue and grooves to stick slightly when new, but use them and it gets better. Ditto on slip joints.
