Yep the ones with the giraffe on them, Sold at autozone a a very fair price, I have been using them for the past 5 years and only broke a 1/4" ratchet, But I have used SO, MAC, SK, CM, GP, professionally for the past 15yrs and these are a great deal for the money, Lifetime warranty also, just wanted to see if any one else use them

Only Great Neck I have is this 39 piece 1/4 set. My only gripe is it does not come with a 13mm. Got it new for $17

Hunker down, Jon. Prepare to catch Hell from the tool truck crowd.

No worries, I have spent thousand's off the tool trucks and still buy, but some things like the 1/4" set posted, I am not going to pay hundreds of dollars for something I rarely use, I work on Heavy trucks, and equipment and usually it is no smaller than 3/4" socket size,

I donated a Great Neck socket set (well, most of it) to my tire shop as we do not take our own tools in, but we needed sockets and I had about five sets.

I have a set of their flare nut wrenches, might have cost three bucks, I guess I'm satisfied with them since I haven't replaced them. The ratchet in the set kaboom put up looks like a Stanley.

I am pleased with my Stanley Pro ratchets I have from ten years ago, except the 1/2DR. That is a decent ratchet then.

Loved the wrench set I picked up at walmart when they carried them. Never had a problem for 5+ years until I spread the open end of a 15mm recently. I have noticed on a few wrenches the chrome has begun to flake. Have yet to try to warranty the wrench, but the style Autozone now carries is slightly different. Think they'll swap it out even though it was purchased elsewhere?

The one ratchet I sent in, It was back to me within a week with a new ratchet in a case, Good service IMHO, But the only reason I heard of great neck was about 5 years ago I was on a service call to change out some Torque Fuses on a driveshaft, I got there and it had oddball sizes from what we were using, I only had a walmart at the time and they had a set of Great neck wrenches, so I bought them with my company CC and they still reside in a roll up for emergency in my toolbox

AFAIK, great neck requires you to have the original receipt when sending an item in for repair or replacement. I don't plan to purchase any more of their products due to this inconvenience.

I have to admit... The look good...

Performance is another thing.

Quite frankly, I think they are junk.... The funny thing is is that I have seen some pawn shops that put snap on prices on their wrenches because they are so shiny!!! :lol_hitti

I have a broken 1/4 drive ratchet (The one that looks like a snap on)... It is not cost effective to try to send it back (I also don't have the original receipt)

Lets not forget about the wonderful GREAT NECK TOOL PROMISE (Not a warranty, because promises can be broken)....

So... I suppose I do not like Great Neck tools....

i work at autozone (im still in college..) and i warrenty tools with no questions asked. rather it be great neck, oem, or duralast. But usally, its just the regular customers that come in with the broken tools, so i keep them happy. I used to work at an old school service station till it closed back in january, one of the mechanics had a torx bit or allen bit..cant remember, from napa that he bought years ago. He called in and asked if they would replace it...they said no becouse they dont carry the brand anymore, he didint give them to much grief..then about 20 mins later the napa truck showed up with a new replacement. I guess it all depends on how you treat the store, and if they know you.

if you were to send them to great neck a receipt would be required. AutoZone's policy is no receipt required for exchange. A return yes.

I have some of their allen bit sockets. They don't hold up to well but they do better than some. Their sockets seem to hold up pretty well. I have a 3/4 deep 1/2 drive that I have beat the hell out of and it keeps going. I have hit this socket with a sledgehammer driving stuff with it on an extension to the point the 4 sides of the extension peeled back and made the end longer. I've abused it to the point if it fails it will go in the scrap bin cause I wouldn't feel right warrantying that one. So far, so good...

I fool around with older USA-made tools, and occasionally I do find older Great Neck tools. At one time, this brand was very high quality US-made tools. They were as good as most "hardware-store" brands of the 40's and 50's, I think.

I haven't used the import versions, so I cannot comment on them.

Strange timing on this one, I was in an AZ today with a broken 3/8 drive flex head and the guy behind the counter told me that GN was a mail in warranty with receipt only. He also told me that they will only warranty duralast tools at the counter. I asked for his manager and he informed me that "I am the manager" with a smirk. I wont be back there anytime soon.

I have tweo GN tools. A 13/16 spark plug socket and a pair of 10" tongue and groove pliers both bought about 15 years ago. Both made in Taiwan. Both have been used for a lot of work and still work good.

A friend of mine has a set of GN combo wrenches. He's used them for 3 or 4 years now and they seem to be ok. He works mainly on push/riding mowers and less often on cars.
