This thread is a spin-off of the Channellock thread. I think Knipex could use it's own thread too so people can post pics and comments on their Knipex tools.

I really like all tools, but I think I have a weird lust for Knipex Cobras. I don't have any other Knipex tools since I don't really need anything with smooth jaws etc, but I do have the Cobras in 5", 6", 7", 10", 10" ES, 12", 16", and 22".

In my opinion I think everyone should have a set of the 10" Extra-slim cobras in their collection.

Get a set of smooth jaws. I didn't think I needed them either (probably don't) but I've used them on multiple occasions and they were great to have.

agreed. The Pliers Wrench is complete win. Use them so much as to not mar stuff up. I got 7 and 12 in pliers wrench and a bunch of cobras as well. Also have their mini bolt cutters, and soon to get their twinforce cutters....

I like the Knipex long nose, side cutter. I only like the comfort grip Knipex personally. I paid under $30.

Coworker has a pair of their small bolt cutters, they make short work of rusty brake line

I love Knipex stuff! I was first "exposed" to them at my previous job(cobras) and have loved them ever since! The pliers wrenches are really nice too!

Love all of mine. Probably have 15-20 pairs of their pliers. Monte, how do you like those snap ring pliers? Durable?

Knipex is the BOMB. I have a pile of their Cobra pliers, as well as a few types of their dikes and a few others. Better than Snap-On IMO.

I use the smaller stuff like needlenose and cutters 6" or less. My larger pliers are channellock simply because that's I what bought years ago. If they ever wear out or break, I may replace with Knipex.

Not only does Knipex make great functioning tools, their attention to astetics (appearance) is spot on.

I have a couple pairs just for this too, clean the joint out with brake clean if brake fluid gets in.

Their hose clamp pliers are worth the money,I bought mine through a Parts Plus auto parts store flier.I know the guy that comes in every Friday to check stock orders,I had him to get me a pair of them.I like Knipex pliers now, rarely use my channellock pliers which stay in my pliers drawer most of the time.My Matco tool dealer promotes the Knipex line and did convince one Snap On fanatic.Convinced him to try a pair of the Knipex diagnal pliers and he said they are still sharp the most over a year now.

Anyone want to guess how much money $$$$$$ is sitting in this single drawer... Very nice collection of German Knipex, they are the best!

To be fair, there is a bunch of snap-on mixed in there also along with some sta-kon ratcheting crimpers.

As far as how much $$$, I don't even want to think about it....

Buy them individually as you need them. I'd get 10", 12", 16" cobras for starters. Two of the 16" ones have replaced ridgid pipe wrenches in my plumbing bag for good.

Knipex 73 71 180 twin force cutters are my favorite.

Someday I'll get a set of the mini bolt cutters. Using my 24" ones for small jobs gets old.
