What's the purpose for the blue rags? Nice collection.

I would assume for a color contrast against the work bench. Decaf certaintly has an appreication for the finer things in life.

I dished out cash for the 10" raptors. They say they're good for rounded or painted hexes. I honestly should have saved my money. I hesitate to say they're useless in removing rounded fasteners only because I haven't tried enough techniques, but I'm not impressed.

Haha. My expectations were unrealistic. These are not for STUCK fasteners, just rounded or damaged. I tried them on STUCK fasteners. That being said they are great for their intended purpose so no, you can't have em lol

Decaf, how do you like the dual cutting surface shears on the top middle rag, top row, leftmost? And which of the smaller pliers wrenches do you like best?

The dual cutting is great, a must have

Then the plier wrenches depends on, but my go to is the non comforthandle 180mm/7inch.

Nice. How's that rack working out for you? I lay mine flat but takes up a lot of real estate.uploadfromtaptalk1446557053804.jpg

I started out with a 7" Pliers Wrench and liked it so much I bought the 12" a few weeks ago. The Cobras and mini bolt cutters will be added next.

How nice are those pliers wrenches? Are they direct replacements for crescent wrenches?

Generally they're great.

One thing they can be problematic on is "squishy" fasteners, such as the crappy cast zinc nuts you get with plumbing hardware nowadays. The plier wrench can compress the nuts making them harder to turn.

I definitely want to get a pair. Maybe the 10" set

Knipex and NWS make the best pliers in the world.

Best is subjective. Provide data then make claims.

I like their innovation and overall finish, but that doesn't mean I'll call a brand "best" on that alone.

Big claim from someone who hasn't been around long... So, please post pictures of all the pliers you own and the instances you used them in that made them "best".

Something tells me we won't get a response, let alone pics.
While they may very well be the best pliers in the world (Im not saying that they are), this can not be proclaimed by someone who has merely heard the hype and is a sudden believer. People who do that blur the truth for people trying to seek it. I wouldn't swear by a tool and tell a guy to get it based on hearsay, unless I disclose to him that that's the case and I've never tried it.
I do swear by a lot of tools, all of which I've used extensively and was more than satisfied, sometimes impressed. More than that, I've also had experience with their direct counterparts.
Thank you for spotting that fishy post d.McFarland.

I haven't used them on rounded hex fasteners, but I have used them to hold 1/2" black iron pipe so I could install a union or an elbow on the end. Teeth dug in and held just fine. Oh, and they seem to work well on square headed bolts, too.

I'm not above putting them in the vise and cleaning up the teeth with a file every so often if they need it.:shocking:
I was referring to the Raptors which feature smooth top and bottom jaws. You must be referring to the cobra or alligator?

The plierwrench is one of the greatest tools ever. Mini bolt cutter pretty good too. The rest doesn't excite me much. Not saying they are bad, just don't do anything to stand above the rest. Side cutters were never that sharp and dulled quickly. Drawer liner weight now. Corbas aren't bad, but good old channellock work just as well.
Side cutters not that sharp and dulled quickly for you? Huh. There IS a limit to what you can cut as specified on the handles of most models. Hard piano wire and spring steel. Their cutting edges are supposed to be 64 or so HRC... Mine stay very much sharp with no issues. 64 HRC is pretty darn hard, not much gunna dent that stuff.
