I know there is a product out there that can do this but I'm looking to make mine. Bugs and mosquitos tear us up working in the garage. Looking at amazon I found a few different cheap options just wondering what everyone else has done.

I use the harbor freight mesh tarps as a sun shade on my front porch. It gets afternoon sun. I hang it from cup hooks. The tarps come in a number of sizes and are pretty strong. We also use them a as back stop for my son's lacrosse goal. The mesh is small enough to keep bugs out

Search for mosquito netting on amazon or Google. It is not expensive and is available in rolls or a replacement for tents.

My dad did, in the late 80's when he added on to his garage. Build a frame for each garage door (3 single doors, 2 7' high, 1 12' high), then covered it with window screen.
On one of the panels he added a screen door for easy entry/exit. Came in real handy for having parties or gatherings in MN.
When not in use, he stored the screen panels above the garage doors.
Sorry no pictures, at least that I know of.
Frame was basically made out of 2x2's, the secured to the garage door frame with hooks (the "eye's" were screwed into the GD frame and left there.)

In my old house I made a fan fold frame and stapled screen to it. It was 2ft tall x 2 car door wide, could easily fold it up and store under a shelf to the side when not in use. Looked for pics but can't find any (pre cellphone).

One possibility would be to buy or build a lattice the size of the opening and put screen over that. The lattice would provide support for the screen.
Maybe put compressible foam around the contact edge for snug fit.

just make a curtain out of bug mesh

https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collections/noseeum-mesh-fabric

I've bot from them a couple times, prompt good service. But they seemto have changed their site and its loading seems to be bogging on cdn.shopify.com
I'm not sure if that's a web commerce applet or a tracking thing.

several shades and patterns available, they have a gray that is $3/yd right now. The rolls are 5' wide so it would be about $60 to span a double-car garage door with a mesh curtain.
